Dr. Satyajit Satpathy was born in Saskatoon, Canada, and was raised in Orissa, India, the latter being where he earned his medical degree. He completed a rigorous four-year residency training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA in 2001 and was awarded “Resident of the Year” by his graduating class.
He accepted a position as Director of In-patient Psychiatry at St. Vincent Medical Center in Erie, PA, upon graduation from his residency program. In Erie, Dr. Satpathy developed a reputation for stellar care of mental health patients. In addition to providing such care, he also provided expert witness testimony pursuant to legal cases involving mental health issues.
In 2004, Dr. Satpathy moved to Coppell, Texas. He was the leader of a team of psychiatrists at the Veterans’ Hospital in Dallas, in providing care to over 3,000 of our war veterans, on a daily basis. He was also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School (UTSWMS), until opening Coppell Psychiatry Care, Inc. During his tenure at UTSWMS, he was nominated for Teacher of the Year by the residents in training.
Dr. Satpathy is married with two children, and resides in Coppell.
